About Archemdis

It is you and I that have the power to change the world with God’s help, but we must all do our part no matter how small.

I like to write on the net because people are free to tune me in or out so the only person I become a boor to is myself.  I think that all politicians are liars and have their own agendas and when it gets to the point that it is even more offensive to me than normal I will speak about it in my blog.

I was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey , but spent most of my life in MontrealMontreal as a city was never perfect, but it used to be alive where now it is dead.  People from all over the world at one time loved to come to Quebec. Its’ people were kind polite, warm and helpful.  Today they are forced to take a side in our civil war and can not negotiate our city if they do not speak french.

I liked our old city and province which had the flavor of the international, the fun-loving, the trend setting and the cultural diverse society.  A place to feel safe and welcomed when visiting.   A place where you could count on  getting help with a smile no matter where you were coming from, or what language you spoke, or what you happen to be wearing.    This is who I am, “Archemdis a proud Canadian, a concerned passionate Quebecer and a lover of Montreal. I long for our city’s glorious past and I speak my mind.”

I would like to be read, but in my mind I need to say it more. To this end I will write what I feel needs to be said in the way I feel I need to say it and leave it up to you if you read it, or not.

A Little About Me:    I was abused for most of my young life in one form, or another by just about every trusted person a child should be able to run to for help and in the end  I became one of the most feared crime personalities in the streets at the time and nobody even knew my name. I was a pimp, a drug dealer and a gangster, but the worst part was I was an angry child doing adult things and trying to get even with those who had hurt me. I was trying punish adults, the police, the courts, the government, in fact I was trying to punish a whole of society, for the hurt, the pain and the shame that my life had become as a result of living in a world that just did not care about the children it created, until it was time to lock them up and abuse them some more.

I was verbally, mentally  and physically abused at home and at school, because this was the way children were taught in my generation to mind their betters. It was legal and it was sanctioned by the police, the courts and the government.  I was sexually taunted by both a  female teacher  and by my mother’s female friends since grade 3 and sexually assaulted by a community center male councilor when I was 12, closer to 13.   I was living on my own on the streets before my 16 birthday and was an alcoholic, drug addict and a walking talking danger to society before my 18th birthday.  I spent countless wasted days months and years in every juvenile detention center in Quebec. I got most of my survival training in these government run institutions and learned all I needed to know to become the best gangster in the city and there were thousands of us young boys and girls  all finishing and honing our skills. The skills it would take to stay alive and do what was necessary to have a successful life in crime, I graduated top of my class.

I have tried every drug in every way, with the exception of putting a needle in my arm and only missed that because thank the good Lord I was afraid of needles.  This does not mean I did not do heroin, because I did, I just did not used a needle, instead I smoked  and inhaled it off of tin foil, in a method called chasing the dragon. I have committed every crime you can imagine and maybe some you can’t with the exception of violating children sexually. They seemed to be my only link to purity, my sanity, my life before the madness came; the one line I would not cross, my weakest link, my achiles heel.  If you look hard today nothing has changed for children it has just gone under ground, making the abuse harder to spot and easier to pass over.

I grew into an even angrier man and it was all directed at a society that I could not reach and so I took it out on the people from your world that liked to live on the edge of mine. The want to be gangsters, the pretenders, the people who were trying to be like me, when all I wanted to do was be like them.  I had my 1st daughter when I was 19 years old and my 2nd ten years later.   I struggled with being a good father, because I did not have the tools, but they were my heart and soul and some how through everything that was going on they kept pulling me back to them; to love and to the way life was supposed to be.

One day an old friend in the moving business called me and offered me a way off of the streets, working moving furniture and I took it.  I was 29 years old, suicidal  and needing to be a good father. A father that my girls could count on and I wanted the hurting to stop. Not just the hurting that society had inflicted on me, but the hurting I had been inflicting on society ever since my first slap, and I said yes to the job. It was the yes that allowed me to begin my change and finally realise the dream and desire of every child growing up; the dream of feeling safe and secure, useful and loved. I had finally found the road to peace through the love of my daughters and an old friend. I am now a productive member of society with 5 lovely grandchildren.  I am now the worst enemy an abuser of other people can have, whether they be  the police, the courts, the government and even society,  because I have a new weapon called the pen and it is mightier than the sword and I am not afraid to use it.

I try to say what is on my mind and not hurt others, but some things need to be said whether they hurt, or not and I do just that. I try to listen as well as talk, but my opinion is just that mine. You need not take it as your own, just respect the fact that I am entitled to it, as you are yours.

I like to remember this when I think not to participate in life, because I feel that I alone can not make a change in how things work out, ” One drop of water by itself  is just a drop of water that  can soon be dried up and made to disappear, but millions of drops can form a raging river not so easily dried up, or and ocean not easily crossed, but it all starts with one drop of water.”

God Bless and keep you all and keep you well. Like the singer said, “If you get the chance to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance.”

They can dance all they like, but what possible reason could explain a man killing his children as they slept, period. What possible reason is needed to say we understand that he brutally murdered his children by stabbing them to death? Guy states that the boy looked him in the eye and begged him to stop and he continued and then walked down the hall and stabbed his little girl to death. What missing link and who cares? What exactly do you mean when you say that you would like to add our pseudo to my list? Have a great evening!

Lot’s of utter Liberal crap on this site unfortunately. Why can’t people on the left think logically when it comes to matters pertaining to society but instead ganer ideas that always serve to destroy it even further.

    • archemdis says:

Maybe because we do not like murdering little children in their sleep fromm the sky, or 800 miles out to sea in the middle of the night,or watching our neighbors go hungry and live on the street so that a budget can be balanced. Maybe because logical is not always humane; maybe because what you call logical is only good for a few and leaves the rest of us serving instead of sharing equally. Unfortunately again I see from your comment that you think that there is only one right and that is yours and the rest of us do not count. I would never think of calling your ideas, or ideals crap just because I do not agree with you or them, but you are true to your right arrogant ways of thinking and doing. No need for debate , no need for democracy, because I am right and you are wrong. Let us all eat the same foods, dress the same, pray to the same God so that we can all be like me the perfect race doing the perfect things. Did I answer your question? Is that clear enough for you? Have a great day! Do you write also, or do you just write nasty little comments on others blogs? lol

Archemdis, what a powerful testimony you have! I love that you are a tried and true overcomer and are speaking truth to power. I had no idea about the political and social tensions in Quebec. I’m definitely interested in learning more about it. God continue to bless you and your family as you continue to speak your mind. :)

Good morning and thank you. When you have been and seen all the things that I have and done some of the things that I have, I think that you have a responsibility to try and prevent if you can just a little of it from happening again. We all have a story to tell and we have all come from somewhere. I have changed with a lot of help and unconditional love. I had to learn to get out the hurt before I could stop being angry. Some of us sing, some of us give talks, I write. They are all gifts from God and we should not be afraid to use them. Quebec has a double whammy. Most places just have the normal things that turn one person against another, but in Quebec, the oppressed have become the oppressor and it is having all sorts of racism, prejudice implications. We say no to things politically that just do not make sense anymore, just to be distinct. When a government puts language spoken and written above all that their citizens need to survive, I think that someone needs to scream and so I scream. God bless you in all that you do and have a great day!!

Wow, I’m impressed by your block. I was always angry and helpless about the injustice and that I grew up in the so called 3rd world but I was even more angry and a little bit shocked to know the profile the take in so called first world in this milenium era. Although, sometimes I don’t have words for my feelings, I’m glad to know someone who can say it like I would it be said.
    God Bless you,
    Laura

Dear Laura, I am so glad I could be of some help to you. Always try to get it out and in the way you would like to say it. Only we in our club know how we feel and what was done to us, but we need to change that so that we can help stop it from happening to another child. Thank you so much for commenting. God bless you too.

  10. Rev. David Shantz says:

    Greetings Archemdis,
I came across the article that you wrote about Tommy Kane as I looking through the net to see what had been written about him.

I really appreciated what you wrote and I would like to invite you to think about what it might mean for you to reach out to Tommy and share with him your feeling and insights yourself.

I have worked as a chaplain with Correctional Service Canada for 23 years. Tommy is presently at one of Institutions where I work. I see him every week and he attends a Bible study discussion group that I lead. I went with him to the funeral home when his mother died. There I met his sister and together we grieved the sorrow of her death.
As you have so well stated there are many chapters to Tommy’s story. I come to these cases with a hope that I can somehow help facilitate the process to move from hurting to healing.
I am presently in contact with others who were apart of Tommy’s life and knew him very well. These are people who have a concern for Tommy and want to support him but do not know how to. Tommy will be moving down through the system… from a medium security institution to a minimum institution and eventually released to a halfway house. He needs to have support and encouragement now.
He is receiving good care in the place where he is at presently but as you know his sister-in – law is doing everything she can to keep him from his children and destroying his moral. Will her action be just as destructive as Tommy’s was to her sister?
We can intervene……… not so much in trying to stop her. If I may use the analogy the athlete, they do not win by trying to weaken their opponent but by becoming stronger than the opponent. We need to come together to encourage Tommy to become stronger : emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually. Together with God’s blessing and wisdom, as a team, we can do it.

I would like communicate with you. Are you are interested in contacting with Tommy? Do you think he would remember you?

    Peace,
    Chaplain David Shantz

Chaplin, greetings to you. I would be happy to speak to Tommy and offer him what help and support I can if he wishes to contact me at archemdis@ymail.com I have already written to you in an email and explained to you under what circumstances I would be willing to go forward with these communications. I am glad that he has some one like you standing by him, he has a tough road to climb. I am older than him and knew his sisters better than him, but who knows what we remember. They lived accross the street from me on Versailles St. in Montreal. His sisters and I still exchange plesantries when we meet in the streeet. Funny though we have never discussed Tommy and what happened; they never mentioned it and I felt it was not right to intrude, they must have had their fill of that. Have a great day and I look forward to hearing from you and Tommy.

Great blog. Nice to see that I am not alone in my absolute distaste for modern Canadian politics.

Peace and love to you and to Québec,

Hello to you and I think that we the voters are part of the problem. We take the crap shovel after shovel full. We need to protest and make the world see Canada for what it is and maybe the government may decide to take things seriously. We have a responsibility here too. Thank you for your comments and peace to you as well.
